Mr. Starobin Verified

Paul Starobin is a Middle East Reporter for the National Journal and a Contributing Editor at the Atlantic. He is also a contributor to the Real State of the Union and a former contributing editor of Columbia Journalism Review. He has reported over the years from Russia, Central Asia, the Caucasus and the Eastern Europe. In 1998, Starobin was awarded a Knight International Press Fellowship to advise independent media in the former Soviet Union. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Starobin is author of The Accidental Autocrat, about the complex and inscrutable character of Russia's president. He has also written for publications including the New York Times, the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Starobin received a master of science degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1981. He lives in Falls Church with his wife and two children.
