Mr. Hoyt Verified

C.J. Hoyt, news director at WFIE-TV, grew up in York, PA with a twin brother and an older sister. He attended Syracuse University and graduated in 1998 with a BS in broadcast journalism. He started out with a summer internship at WGAL News 8 in Lancaster, Pa.[CR-LF][CR-LF]After graduation, he moved to Lincoln, NE to become the morning show producer for KOLN/KGIN 10/11 News. After just two months there, he was promoted to the 6pm/10pm producer. While there, Hoyt also produced a number of sports specials on the Nebraska Cornhusker football team.[CR-LF][CR-LF]About a year later, Hoyt took a job with WYFF News 4 in Greenville, SC. He spent three years there as the 5pm/5:30pm producer. While there, he won an Associated Press First Place award for Best Series. In December 2002, Hoyt left Greenville to go to Knoxville, to become the Nightside Executive Producer at WATE 6 News. After a little more than a year in Knoxville, he moved to Lafayette to become News Director at KLFY TV 10. He subsequently joined WFIE-TV in early 2008.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He spends his free time with his dog, Swirl, or playing disc golf or volleyball. He also enjoys watching sports and movies.
