Mr. Aune Verified

Bruce Aune started working in broadcasting in 1966 at a radio station in Brainerd, Minnesota. He continued in radio during college and then was a sports reporter for AFN-Europe in Frankfurt, Germany, while in the Army. His first TV job came in 1974 at KEYC-TV in Mankato, Minnesota, where he was a news reporter and, later, sports director. He served as news director and anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City, IA, in the early '80's, and then moved on to anchor the news and report at WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois, and WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan. Aune came to TV9 in 1986, and has anchored the evening newscasts since then. News assignments at TV9 have taken him all over the country and the world including several trips to China, Russia, and Japan. He has traveled on two presidential campaigns and covered the last three presidential inaugurations. He enjoys traveling, playing golf, and baseball. Aune is a graduate of Southwest State University in Marshall, Minnesota, and attended graduate school earlier known as Mankato State University.
