David Neal began his career in weather in the mid-1980's while attending meteorology school at Florida State University in Tallahassee. While working as a forecaster with the Department of Meteorology at the university, he accepted a position as a weatherman with WTXL-TV in Florida. In the spring he also hosted a series of severe weather workshops in the FOX 6 Storm Warn Town Hall Meetings, taking the show on the road to many areas of the state to talk weather with citizens in the community. Neal accepted a job as chief meteorologist for WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Neal grew up in Gadsden, Ala. His hobbies include anything involved with the outdoors, especially fishing. He graduated in 1987 with a degree in geography/meteorology.
