Mr. Mansfield Verified

Gregg Mansfield is the managing editor and contributor to Powerboat. In addition to writing, he coordinates all boat tests and story events, and also oversees the production flow of editorial copy. Mansfield is also the editor of News & Notes, a specialized section of the magazine, featuring boat profiles, gadget introductions, and industry news. He has won numerous awards, including recognition from the Ventura County Press Club and Scripps Howard. Mansfield began his career as a staff writer at Santa Maria (Calif.) Times in 1986. He joined the Ventura County Star as a staff writer in 1994 and later became its bureau chief. His duties included managing editorial and photo content, editorial budgets, and a staff of writers. Mansfield's hobbies include restoring his 1929 home, playing basketball, and helping maintain the project boat of the magazine. Mansfield received his Bachelors degree in Journalism from California State University in San Luis Obispo.
