Mr. Kristol Verified

Bill Kristol is an American political analyst and commentator. He covers federal government and politics in a monthly column for the Post. He is also founder and editor of The Weekly Standard, and appears regularly on Fox News Channel. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Previously, Mr. Kristol wrote a conservative column for the New York Times. A well-known conservative, he co-founded the neoconservative Project for the New American Century (PNAC) in 1997 with Robert Kagan, and is a member of several conservatively aligned think tanks. He was chief of staff to then-Vice President Dan Quayle and also served under Secretary of Education William Bennett during the Reagan administration. Prior to his government work, he taught political philosophy and American politics. He is a 2001 recipient of the Carey McWilliams Award given by the American Political Science Association. He is co-author (with Lawrence Kaplan) of "The War Over Iraq: Saddam?s Tyranny and America?s Mission" (Encounter Books, 2003).
