Mr. Irvin Verified

Steve Irvin comes to ABC 15 from Nashville, Tenn., where he co-anchored the 5pm news weekdays on WTVF-TV. Mr. Irvin grew up in Madison, Wis., but his work in television news has taken him all over the world. From political conventions in Los Angeles, to a terrorist attack at the Pentagon, he has even followed our troops as they keep the peace in Bosnia. Despite those travels, Mr. Irvin says, the best stories are always right in his own backyard. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Irvin's work has earned him numerous awards for writing and reporting, including Rocky Mountain Emmy Award for anchoring in 2004. He has been married to his wife for 13 years and they have a son. Their first "child" is Kiyo, an 10-year-old Shiba Inu. The Irvin family also has a border collie named Macy that they adopted from the Arizona Humane Society. In his spare time Mr. Irvin enjoys running, reading, and playing golf. His handicap is his swing.
