Carolyn Holly is the anchor for the evening news for KTVB-TV. More recently, she has anchored the News at Noon each weekday with meteorologist Larry Gebert. On Saturday and Sunday, she produces and anchors for Seven Days, a weekly news wrap up show on KTVB-TV.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Holly has 20 years of working in the field of broadcast news. While in college, she was offered a part time job by KGW-TV in Portland and then a full-time reporting job at KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls. She broke ground in the Idaho journalism world by launching the first half hour morning television newscast in Idaho, Idaho at Sunrise. By 1982, she joined the KTVB family as a weekend and morning news anchor. [CR-LF][CR-LF]She has a variety of news experiences including being hit indirectly by lightning while broadcasting live from the Boise River festival, and having the privilege to conduct a series of interview with the late Boise State University coach Pokey Allen who lost a long battle with a rare form of cancer.[CR-LF][CR-LF]In her distinguished career, Holly has won numerous awards throughout the Northwest for her reports on health and social issues. She volunteers in the community by helping groups such as the St. Luke's Hospital Children's Board, The Governor's Task Force on Adolescent Pregnancy, and The Idaho Women's Fitness Celebration. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In her spare time, Holly and her family are involved in little league, Y-ball and Optimist Football. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1981.
