Prior to moving to Taiwan, I was living in Hong Kong where I covered the 2019 democracy protests in-depth while working as a teaching assistant at the University of Hong Kong's Journalism and Media Studies Centre. Before then, I lived in Cambodia for three years where I also worked as a freelance journalist covering politics and culture including stories on the Khmer Rouge tribunal, wildlife trade, and Cambodia's brief post-war golden age.
