Dr. Diamond Verified

Larry Diamond covers problems of democracy for the Journal of Democracy. He is the codirector of the International Forum for Democratic Studies at the National Endowment for Democracy and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. Mr. Diamond also coordinates the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law's democracy program.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Over the past 30 years, Mr. Diamond has written or edited numerous books on global democracy. He previously consulted for USAID and contributed to their foreign aid report. He is now a member of USAID's Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid. Mr. Diamond has advised and lectured to the World Bank, the United Nations, the State Department, and other governmental and nongovernmental agencies that deal with governance and development. A former senior adviser to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, he also frequently lectures and writes about the difficulty of postconflict state-building in Iraq. He was at one time a member of the Council on Foreign Relations' Independent Task Force on United States Policy Toward Arab Reform.
