Dr. Barbara Bealor Hines is a professor of Journalism at Howard University. She taught Print and Advertising/Public Relations at Howard University. She coordinates the Department of Journalism's internship program. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Hines was a press secretary to the US Senator Ralph W. Yarborough and as assistant dean of the College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. She is a member of the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Dr. Hines served on the selection panel for the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards, the Department of Defense Thomas Jefferson Awards and the Department of the Army's Community Relations Awards.
