Stacey Baca anchors the ABC 7 News Weekend Morning program at WLS-TV. She joined the station in June 2002. In addition, Baca contributes to ABC 7's daily newscasts as a reporter.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to joining ABC 7, she worked as a reporter and weekend morning anchor at KNSD-TV in San Diego (1999-2002). Before that, Baca anchored the Saturday and Sunday morning newscasts at WTKR-TV in Norfolk, Va., (1996-98). She began her career in journalism as a print reporter. From 1992-96, Baca worked as a staff writer for the Denver Post, and from 1991-92, she wrote for the Brighton Standard-Blade in Brighton, Colo. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Baca, as a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, often speaks to elementary, middle school, high school, and college students about the importance of education. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Baca is married and resides in downtown Chicago. She holds a 1991 Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast news from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
