Mr. Abu-Rabi Verified

Ibrahim Abu-Rabi is a co-editor for The Muslim World and covers Islam, religion and theology. He is currently a professor of Islamic Studies and a co-director of the Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations at Hartford Seminary. He has a special interest in the study and practice of interfaith dialogue between the Islamic and Christian religious traditions and specializes in issues of contemporary Islamic thought, particularly on religion and society, and mysticism. [CR-LF][CR-LF] He attended and received degrees from Birzeit University (in Birzeit, West Bank, Palestine), the University of Cincinnati, and Temple University, Philadelphia. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Abu-Rabi has served as Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies in Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and has held a Rockefeller Fellowship at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.
