Monty Webb is currently chief meteorologist for WHAS-TV. Prior to this position, he served in the same capacity for KIRO-TV in Seattle. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He was an Air Force meteorologist for nine years. While in the Air Force, he forecasted weather for just about every place in the Northern hemisphere. A knee injury stopped his Air Force career, but didn't stop him from forecasting weather, something he immensely enjoys.[CR-LF][CR-LF]After his Air Force career, his first TV job was in the Tri-Cities. From there he went to Spokane, then Boise and then back home to Seattle and KIRO-TV from 1994-98. Then Chicago called, and he thought forecasting snowstorms, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes might be a fun challenge, so he packed up and moved his family back East. In 2002, Webb returned home to work at KCPQ-TV. After two years, KIRO asked if he'd like to come back and work for them, and he accepted their offer. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Webb has earned many prestigious awards during both his Air Force and Broadcast careers. He's received Commendation, Achievement, and Humanitarian Service Medals for his forecasting around the United States and the World. He has received three Emmys - two from Seattle and one from Chicago. He received an Emmy for best weather anchor in 2004.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Webb and his wife have three children, two daughters and a son. Webb is a Northwest native, growing up in the South Sound. His family lives on the Eastside and enjoy hiking, biking and all of the other amenities that go along with living in the beautiful Northwest.
