Carla Wade began her career in broadcasting at the age of 19 at an Oklahoma City radio station where she anchored the news and was a morning show co-host. This first job opportunity led her to a two year stint at National Public Radio affiliate KGOU/KROU in Norman, Okla., where she anchored the evening news and reported for the morning show while enrolled as a full time student. Wade worked as a general assignment reporter and morning anchor at the American Broadcasting Corporation affiliate in Little Rock, Ark., and as a weekend anchor, producer, and reporter at KSWO in Lawton, Okla. [CR-LF][CR-LF]She also worked for the student newspaper, The Oklahoma Daily, as a reporter and columnist. Wade 's radio reporting won her a 1997 Associated Press Broadcasters Award for her coverage of the 1st Anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing. She is also a published author who has written for Ladies Home Journal and other magazines. Wade has donated her time as a youth mentor and has been involved with various community projects over the years from literacy projects, women's health issues, and sickle cell research. She earned a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in Norman.
