Forrest Stone is education executive editor for Education World.com. Prior to that, Stone worked for the Weekly Reader Corporation where he was vice president and editor in chief of Lifetime Learning Systems.[CR-LF][CR-LF] Previously, he served as executive editor of Weekly Reader magazine. [CR-LF][CR-LF]During the 1996 presidential election, he created a program called 'HearAmerica,' for which he conducted exclusive interviews with all the major candidates. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He also created Weekly Reader Galaxy, the first Web site to win the EdPress Golden Lamp Award, the highest honor in educational publishing.[CR-LF][CR-LF] Stone is a faculty member of the Yale Summer Program and he teaches screenwriting and playwriting.[CR-LF][CR-LF] Other editorial positions have included editor in chief of Sundance Publishers and editor of Scholastic Voice, a literature magazine for teens. At Scholastic, Stone also created Storyworks magazine.[CR-LF][CR-LF] Stone attended Harvard graduate school to study creative writing. He also studied drama at Yale. Stone was a filmmaker at Robert Redford's Sundance Institute.
