Amber Stearns is currently a news anchor/reporter for WIBC-FM's news program "Indianapolis Today."[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to joining WIBC, Stearns served as the news director/assistant program director at WIOU-AM/WZWZ-FM in Kokomo, IN for over a decade. She has also worked at WBAT-AM/WCJC-FM in Marion, IN.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Stearns was a Marconi Award Finalist for "Small Market Personality of the Year" in 2002 with WZWZ co-host Allan James, and has received many other awards during her career. She was most recently awarded 2007 Best Breaking News Coverage in radio by the IBA. Stearns is also a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Stearns is a graduate of North Central High School and has a B.S. in Electronic Media from the University of Indianapolis. She is very active with her alma mater, serving on the University of Indianapolis Alumni Association Board of Directors.
