Jim Ramsey, who joined WGN-TV in 1987, currently serves as a weekend weather forecaster. Ramsey began his television career in 1975 serving as a news co-anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. From there he moved on to KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs as both a weathercaster and news reporter. In 1979 Ramsey joined WXEX-TV in Richmond as the chief forecaster and in 1980 he returned to a news and weather position at WLS-TV in Chicago. In 1983 he became the principal weather anchor at WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. His career also made a few turns in the direction of radio. Among the stations where he plied his craft are WIS in Columbia, South Carolina, KRDO in Colorado Springs, and the South Carolina News Network. His role while in radio was primarily as newscaster. Ramsey is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.
