Mr. Parker Verified

Don Parker, who joined WCOA in 1993 as a writer, has hosted Pensacola Speaks, Ask The Expert, Talk At Ten and, for the past ten years, has been a part of the WCOA Morning Sho. He is also the Host of Pensacola Morning News, Northwest Florida's Home on the Internet. He is also a contributor to the Union Leader. [CR-LF][CR-LF]His past employment includes Director of Development, National Right, managing editor of the Hutchinson Leader and editor of South Washington County News. He worked as an emergency medical technician and ambulance driver and as a deputy sheriff with the Escambia County Sheriff's Department. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Taking an early retirement as a captain in 1970 he started a new career as a writer and speaker. He has written three books about his law enforcement career and has also written magazine articles, columns and stage plays which have been performed in Pensacola and in New York City. Parker had recently returned to the Twin Cities after pursuing business opportunities in St. Louis. [CR-LF]Parker graduated from Pensacola High School. He attended Pensacola Junior College and spent two years in the United States Navy, stationed aboard a guided missile destroyer home-ported in Charleston, South Carolina.
