Troy Oppie is currently a weekend sports anchor and reporter for KBCI-TV. Prior to this position, he served as sports director at KCFW-TV in Kalispell, Mont. He has also served as the sports anchor and sports director for the news at KECI-TV in Missoula, Mont.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Before arriving in Montana, Oppie worked as a radio disc jockey for KPLU-FM radio in Seattle, hosting "Jazz on the Grooveyard" for the biggest jazz radio station in the United States. He also spent time as a freelance production assistant at Fox Sports Northwest, producing stories for news, researching and designing graphics, writing stories and running audio. After a little over a year of working as sports reporter and weekend anchor at KECI-TV, Oppie was promoted to sports director.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Oppie is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University. He was very active in the media program, as well in the Department of Music, intramural sports, and Student Involvement and Leadership. Oppie was also the General Manager and Sports Director of PLU's campus television during two of its most successful years.
