Michele Norris has hosted the program since 2002, and is also a journalist at National Public Radio, which sponsors the show. She has also worked at ABC News as a correspondent, contributing to 'Good Morning America', '20/20', and 'World News Tonight'. In the past, she has worked as a reporter at The Chicago Tribune and The Los Angeles Times, covering politics and social issues. She is also a former staff writer for The Washington Post.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Norris has received many awards during her career, including the Chesapeake Associated Press News Executive Council Editorial Contest Award in the 'Feature Writing' category, the Livingston Award and the Federal Bar Association Media Award, all awarded in 1990. In addition, she is a four-time nominee for The Pulitzer Prize. Norris studied journalism at the University of Minnesota and electrical engineering at the University of Wisconsin.
