Theresa Marchetta joined the 7News team in 2003, as weekday reporter and weekend co-anchor. Marchetta's career in Denver began in 2000 when she anchored the 5 p.m. news and reported for the CBS affiliate. [CR-LF][CR-LF]During her first two years in Denver, she was named "Best News Anchor" by Westword and by 5280 Magazine. She also won the Emmy award for outstanding news anchor. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Marchetta is also a cancer survivor, sharing her journey with Coloradans from diagnosis through treatment. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Before arriving in Denver, Marchetta worked as a news anchor and reporter at WPLG-TV in Miami for seven years. She also worked at stations in Wisconsin and Arizona. [CR-LF][CR-LF]While in Miami, Marchetta was awarded the media partner of the year award by the American Red Cross for her service and volunteer work. She also holds an Arizona Associated Press award. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Marchetta graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. The Alumni Association honored her as outstanding senior in her class.
