I am a fully qualified journalist with 15 years of experience in the print and online media. My grounding was gained at a busy Midlands newspaper group where I learned the basics of grassroots journalism before working my way up to the role of Group News Editor.

For the past five years I have been working on a self-employed freelance basis, during which time I have enjoyed success on a range of projects and commissions. I have written articles for a range of websites on topics including business, finance, health and travel to name just a few.

I compile a monthly business supplement and have just finished putting together all the editorial for two new standalone education magazines.

My grounding was gained on a busy Midlands newspaper desk where I started as a junior reporter, gained all the relevant qualifications and worked my way up to the position of Group News Editor.

So as well as knowing a thing or two about how to craft, edit and proofread the perfect article, I also know what makes a good story. I spiked thousands of press releases during my time as news editor because they just didn't cut the mustard.
