Mr. Krashesky Verified

Prior to his current duties as a news anchor and NewsViews host, Alan Krashesky co-anchored WLS-TV's weekday newscast and the station's morning newscasts. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Earlier in his career, he served as a news reporter and weathercaster for KTBC-TV in Austin, Texas. Prior to his work at KTBC-TV, he was a news reporter, weathercaster and weekend sports anchor at WBNG-TV in Binghamton, N.Y. Krashesky gained his first broadcasting experience in college, when he was a news anchor on WICB-FM radio in Ithaca, N.Y (1979-81). During this time, he also was the station's assistant news director, reporter and show host. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Krashesky was honored particularly for his coverage of the Roman Catholic Church. He won a Chicago Emmy Award in the year 2000 for his creation, "A Pilgrimage of Peace: The Pope In The Holy Land", and his half-hour special, "Francis Cardinal George: A Journey Of Hope", received the Silver International Angels Award from Excellence in Media in 1999. In 1997, his report on Cardinal Bernadin's Chicago Years, won a Communicators Award from the archdiocese of Chicago. Krashesky's other honors include the 1997 Polish American Congress Heritage Media Award, the Milton Hershey School's 1997 Outstanding Achievement Award for Accomplishments in Broadcast Journalism and a 1996 citation for his work on behalf of the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists. The Chicago Fathers Day Council named him Father of The Year in 1996. In 1992, he received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Ithaca College in New York. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Krashesky lives in Chicago's suburbs with his wife and three children. He attended the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pa. He graduated with honors from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y., with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications management in 1981.
