Kitty Fleischman is currently the publisher and editor who prefers to receive press releases through the mail. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Kitty Fleischman began working for the twice-weekly Nome Nugget, and in 1980, she took a job in Anchorage editing the 56,000 circulation Great Lander, a weekly Alaskan/shopper. After moving to Boise, she took a job at The Idaho Weekly Business Reporter. A month later, she and three others, left and started The Idaho Business Review in 1984. She owned and ran that publication with a partner until they sold it in 1999. She continued to work for the company that purchased the Business Review for two years. In September 2002, she received an opportunity to work with Velma Morrison on her memoirs, and recently completed her (and Velma's) first book, 'The Bluebird Will Sing Tomorrow' It is available in limited circulation and has received rave reviews from all seven people who have read it. She started the Idaho Magazine in late summer of 2001. Fleischman has been named a national winner in the annual National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) communications contest. Fleischman, publisher and editor of the monthly Idaho magazine, received first place for the publication's December 2003 issue in the category of four-color publications. In addition, she received a third place award for her recently released book, 'The Bluebird Will Sing Tomorrow, the memoirs of Velma Morrison.' Fleischman's winning entries were selected from 1,031 submitted in 66 major categories. Fleischman is also a member of Idaho Press Women, an affiliate of NFPW. Fleischman graduated from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan with a degree in elementary education, and taught junior high school for five years in Michigan and several years in Alaska. Driving is her main hobby.
