Anna Davlantes is a weekend anchor for NBC 5 Chicago at WMAQ-TV for the 5 and 10 p.m. broadcasts. She came to the station from KRIV-TV in Houston where she was the primary anchor for the Fox-owned station. She also worked at WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne, Ind., at WXIN-TV in Indianapolis and at WTTW-TV in Chicago.[CR-LF][CR-LF]In 2005, Davlantes received the Ethics In Journalism Award from the Chicago Headline Club. She was cited for courage and professionalism in reporting a story about a sports facility acquired through alleged mob involvement. Davlantes received a local Emmy Award for breaking news coverage of the Hancock scaffolding collapse and was nominated for a National Emmy for anchoring coverage of the same event. She also received a prestigious Headliner Award for her story about an exotic animal refuge in Texas.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Davlantes is very active in the community; she regularly volunteers in the Chicago Public Schools.
