Dr. Crabb Verified

David W. Crabb, M.D., is chairman of the Indiana University Department of Medicine. He oversees the scientific and clinical activities of 290 physicians and researchers and the education of more than 150 internal medicine and medicine-pediatrics residents. Dr. Crabb received the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1989.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Crabb's primary research interest is the metabolism of alcohol and genetic components of alcoholism. He was the recipient of a MERIT award from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and the Young Investigator Awards from the Central Society of Clinical Research and the Research Society on Alcoholism.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Purdue University in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in biology and received his medical degree from Indiana University in 1978. He did his residency at Indiana University School of Medicine and was chief resident of internal medicine in 1982-83.
