Sandra Chapman joined the investigation team at WTHR-TV in December of 2003. She came to WTHR-TV after spending ten years at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, where she was an investigative reporter and a weekend anchor. Before that she worked at WICD-TV in Champaign, Ill., where she was an anchor, reporter, and producer. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Chapman is a member of the Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists and Investigative Reporters and Editors. She is active in the Indianapolis community through her work with HOPE worldwide and is also a member of the Indianapolis Church of Christ and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.[CR-LF][CR-LF] Chapman has earned many national, regional, and state awards for her reporting. She won a regional Emmy and has numerous Emmy nominations. She has won a CASPER award as a result of her investigation into Indiana's Zachary's Law. Chapman is also a two time winner of the national Gracie Allen Award from the American Women in Radio and Television. She has received accolades from the Indiana Society of Professional Journalists, the Indiana Broadcasters Association, and the Indiana Associated Press. Chapman is a graduate from Ball State University, where she earned her degree in telecommunications.
