Brad Byrd has been WEHT-TV?s lead anchor for 30 years. During his career in broadcast journalism, he has won numerous awards for his work. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In April, 2005, Brad one of only six broadcasters inducted into the prestigious Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame since its inception in 1966. He also became the first Evansville broadcaster inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Silver Circle Hall of Fame. Brad is also one of 16 broadcasters nationwide named "Consistent Best Hosts" by the National Easter Seals Society in 1996 for his role on the Easter Seals Telethon and is a recipient of the Optimists International "Citizen of the Year" award for 1994.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Other honors include Emmy Awards and nominations, as well as Edward R. Murrow awards for various reports. He?s also received local, state and regional awards for his work from the Associated Press. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Brad is a contributing writer for Evansville Courier & Press, and Evansville Living Magazine. He also teaches media courses at the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He was inducted to the Ball State University College of Communications "Wall of Fame" in 1995. He's a 1974 BSU graduate.
