Ms. Brinias Verified

Shannon Brinias joined KKTV in 2005. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Before that, she worked at KIRO in Seattle where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor. Before that she worked at KMGH as a weekend anchor and reporter. She also worked at KING-TV in Seattle. Brinias worked as a weekend morning anchor at KGW-TV in Portland, as a weekend morning anchor at KXLY in Spokane and as a reporter in Reno. [CR-LF][CR-LF]She has twice been nominated for Emmy awards and has won the Regional Society of Professional Journalists Award for series reporting. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Brinias is a long-time Junior League volunteer and helped organize a local project that provides housing and mentoring for young, unmarried, low-income mothers in Seattle. She enjoys gardening, playing tennis and going to the movies.[CR-LF][CR-LF]She was raised and lived in Bellevue most of her life. She attended Pacific Lutheran University, where she worked on the school's local newscast and began her television career as an intern with the photojournalism department at KIRO Television.
