John Boel is an anchor and reporter for NewsChannel 32 at WLKY-TV. He joined the news team in 1988. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In 2006, Boel received his 50th Emmy Award in his entire broadcasting career.The awards have spanned all facets of journalism in categories including anchor, reporter, writer, investigative, public service, documentary, sports, feature, education, historical, crime, spot and general news reporting. He also won over 50 first-place honors in A.P., S.P.J. and Murrow Awards.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Boel is a dedicated triathlete who runs at least one marathon per year. In all, he has finished 10 marathons, and finished the 2004 Ironman Triathlon in Madison, Wis.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Boel is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He is married and has two daughters.
