After a 15-year career as a reporter for WVUE-TV, Richard Angelico began at WDSU as a part-time producer of the then-11 p.m. newscast in 1983. Within two years he was promoted to full-time reporter and soon began his career as an investigative reporter. Angelico has won numerous awards for his investigative reports, including two Emmys, six regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, several Associated Press and Press Club Awards and the prestigious Society of Professional Journalists First Amendment Award. He is the only reporter to have been given a Metropolitan Crime Commission Award for Outstanding Reporting on Organized Crime. Angelico grew up in Jefferson Parish and lives along Bayou Street with his wife, Diane. They have a son and a daughter and four grandchildren. Angelico graduated with a degree in Spanish from Loyola University.
