
Amanda Mustard is an award-winning photographer and journalist based in Bangkok, Thailand (previously Cairo, Egypt). Selected to participate in the 2016 World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass, Mustard has also been chosen for PDN 30 Under 30, a Wallis Annenberg Prize, and 30 Under 30 Women Photographers.
Mustard has completed assignments throughout the Middle
East, Asia, and South East Asia for clients including The New York Times,
Associated Press, GEO, Bloomberg, WIRED, TIME, Le Monde, Al Jazeera, Monocle,
Telegraph, amongst others. Her commercial clients have included Airbnb,
Chrysler, Facebook, and Mondelēz International. She has completed projects for
various NGOs, and additionally provides video content to both news and
documentary film projects.
Mustard is a founding member of the Koan Collective, and
Frontline Freelance Register board member. She is on the board of the Foreign
Correspondents Club in Thailand, where she is the exhibition curator. Until
it's 2016 close, she was also a member of the Makeshift Magazine editorial
board, an independent quarterly magazine about grassroots creativity and
invention around the world.
She has received combat medical training through RISC.
Mustard is an advocate for the protection and sustainability of the freelance
community and gender equality in the media industry.
