Juice Diets To Transform Your Body: Experts Weigh In On Its Effectiveness

Those who wish to follow juice diets need to consume fruits and vegetables in the form of juices. The most strict variation requires one to abstain from having any other type of food, which lasts for a shorter time. In comparison, the lenient ones allow particular solid food to be eaten. 


"This type of diet does allow a person to lose weight because the calorie intake is very low. It also helps a person consume more essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which will benefit their health if their usual meals lack them. However, this is not effective in the long term, especially for weight loss. The results are not sustainable, and it also slows down the body's metabolism. So as soon as a person returns to eating a balanced diet, they will gain back the weight they lost," shares a trainer.


Essential nutrients such as protein and fiber can be deficient in juice diets. Without them, a person will suffer from health issues. Lack of protein can result in loss of muscle mass and increase weakness and fatigue. If an individual does not consume enough fiber, they could suffer from bowel and stomach issues. 


A trainer advises, "If a person wants to include juices in their diet, they can do so; however, they should consume other healthy solid foods too. To become fit and lose weight, all a person needs is a balanced diet and a good exercise routine. Working out by yourself or with a trainer is a tried and tested method for weight loss, and the results are also more sustainable. Therefore, juice-only diets are not really necessary."
