A native of Hammond, Indiana, Jim Zaleski is an avid outdoorsman, self-taught cook and retired rugby player after 13 years. Most recently he was the vice president of Communications for the Lake County Indiana Convention and Visitors Bureau. Zaleski has been a corporate member of the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers since 1996. He contributes to several web based zines writing both about food and the great outdoors. He co-hosts a radio show called "Fishing Tallgrass Country," which is heard on several Tallgrass Broadcasting stations.
