Trish Lorenz is a Writer and journalist who divides her time between Berlin, Lisbon, Madrid

An award winning journalist and writer with more than 15 years experience, I divide my time between Berlin, Lisbon and Madrid. A former correspondent, I specialise in the Iberian Peninsula region but also write about art and culture, politics, people and places from around the world, for English language publications across the UK, US and Australia.

**Winner of the 2021/2022 Nine Dots Prize**

A journalist and writer with more than 15 years experience, I am based in Berlin and also working on projects in Stockholm, Madrid and Lisbon.

In May 2021 I won the Nine Dots Prize (https://ninedotsprize.org/winners/trish-lorenz/) and a book deal with Cambridge University Press. Responding to the question 'What does it mean to be young in an ageing world?', I spent time in Lagos, Nigeria, researching the book.

Between 2014-2020 I was based in Lisbon, Portugal, where I was Monocle Magazine's correspondent. Formerly a columnist at The Independent, I contribute on a regular basis to major British newspapers including The Guardian, The Financial Times and The Telegraph and have written for US publications, such as The New York Times along with magazines including Conde Nast Traveller, Elle Decoration and ICON.

My 15 years of creative consultancy experience spans travel and hospitality, arts and culture, retail and not for profit clients. I have worked with major international organisations such as Virgin Atlantic Airways, TripAdvisor and Friends of the Earth along with small start ups in locations including London, Berlin, Lisbon and Madrid. My hands on experience includes consulting on retail propositions, developing service strategy for hospitality projects, curating arts events and creating and delivering corporate communication ranging from website and social media campaigns to magazines, guides, newsletters and books.

I have traveled extensively, visiting almost 70 countries and every continent except Antarctica and have lived in Australia, Britain, Germany, India, Portugal, Spain and Tonga and know these countries particularly well.

I write fiction in my spare time and have recently completed the first book in a series of crime novels, (due to be published in 2022).
