Dan Satterfield is a chief meteorologist WHNT-TV in the Tennessee Valley. He has worked as a forecast meteorologist for newspapers in Oklahoma and radio stations in Oklahoma, Alabama and Florida. His TV career began in 1981 in Oklahoma City. Satterfield is a full member of the American Meteorological Society and a holder of the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval. He also is a member of the National Weather Association. Most recently, he was among a select group of weather broadcasters, who were invited to the White House for the Forum on Climate Change. He worked at Oakland University for the National Severe Storms Lab on the tornado intercept team. He also worked on a Tornado Educational Project for school children funded by the National Science Foundation. Satterfield is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has two wonderful children, a daughter Kerri and a son, Roy. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, now known as one of the most prestigious meteorology schools in the world.
