Kevin Roy began his broadcasting career as an anchor and reporter for KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 1990 to 1992. He served as a Washington correspondent for the Belo Broadcasting bureau from 1993 to 1995. Roy was a weekend anchor and reporter for WHAS-TV in Louisville, Ky., from 1992 to 1993. He was a weekend anchor and investigative reporter for KGW-TV from 1995 to 1998. Roy joined ABC 7 News as a reporter in October 1998. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Roy is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. He is a volunteer for the Catholic Charities' Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS) and serves on the board of the Mental Health Association of Ill. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Roy is a five-time Emmy award winner. In 2002, he won two Emmys, one for Individual Excellence in News Writing and another for his production of AIDS in Africa: The Lost Generation, which won Best Hard News Feature Series. In 2001, he received an Emmy for Best Reporter, Individual Excellence on Camera. In addition, he won a Best News Series Emmy in 2001 for A Son of Suicide. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Roy is a native of Chicago. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1990.
