Mr. Darryal Ray is the Editor of Neighbors magazine and the Alfa Farmers Website Director, covering stories on agribusiness, farms, and farming. His most recent work includes, "Alabama Cattlemen Set for 65th Convention," "Schafer Sworn In As Secretary Of Agriculture" and "Value-Added Grant Will Help Grow Alabama Satsuma Market."[CR-LF][CR-LF]Raised on a poultry farm in Winston County, Ray began his journalism career as a 16-year-old sports and news writer for the Northwest Alabamian in Haleyville. He later served as sports editor for the Alabama Journal in Montgomery before joining the staff of the Anniston Star, where he served as features editor.[CR-LF][CR-LF]During his 16-year stint at the Star, Ray launched and edited a syndicated Christian entertainment news page that had a circulation of 3.7 million in the United States and Canada. For the past six years, he has worked at the Birmingham News as a reporter and copy editor. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ray and his wife Gail have relocated to Montgomery from Oxford. They have five grown children and five grandchildren.
