Doug Quick became a weatheranchor for the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts in October of 2002 for NewsChannel 15. His broadcasting career began in 1974 in his hometown of Taylorville, Ill., at WTIM-FM. At Western Illinois University, he co-anchored the 6 p.m. news on the university cable television station. Quick also worked at WTAX-AM/WDBR-TV in Springfield, Ill., during his days at W.I.U. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In late 1977, he ended up in Danville, Ill., at WDAN-AM/WMBJ-TV (later WDNL-TV). There, Quick helped put WDNL-TV (D-102) on the air in late 1977, and was the morning announcer. In 1994, he took on the position of Promotions Director at WICD-TV, during which he became a part-time weathercaster for weekend newscasts. In July of 1998, Quick left promotions and became the co-anchor and weathercaster for Sunrise Today. He was also the anchor of the Noon news. He continues to serve as WICD-TV's public service director and host of Spotlight 15.
