Dr. Kai Hwang is an editor for the Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing. He is a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and director of Internet and Grid Computing Laboratory at the University of Southern California. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to joining the University of Southern California in 1985, Dr. Hwang was a professor at Purdue University for many years and a visiting chair professor at the University of Minnesota and University of Hong Kong. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In 1996, he received an Outstanding Achievement Award from The International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Processing Techniques and Applications. He received a similar award from The International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies in 2002 for his leadership roles in advanced research and higher education in computer engineering and information technology. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Dr. Hwang holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
