Eric Halvorson is an anchor for the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. broadcasts on WISH-TV.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He joined WISH-TV in 1983, anchoring the 5 p.m. and noon newscasts. His partnership with Patty Spitler on News 8 at Noon represented the second-longest tenure of anchor teams on Indianapolis television. His other roles at WISH-TV include weekend anchor and a founding anchor of Daybreak. An avid traveler, he has interviewed people ranging from national leaders to Nintendo champions. Since WISH-TV acquired Chopper 8, he has also displayed his skills as a reporter and photographer in the air. Halvorson began his career as a reporter and photographer at WTTV. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He has been honored with first-place award from the Associated Press for his live coverage of a tornado outbreak in central Indiana, and is also a two-time Emmy award-winner. A member of the Society of Professional Journalists, Halvorson graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis.
