Mario Garcia covers music as the PM drive-time DJ on KKYR-FM. Garcia is a veteran of radio with over 30 years under his belt and has worked at many stations throughout his long career. In 1976 while attending Arkansas High School he was offered a part-time on-air position at KOSY 790. After taking some broadcasting classes at TCC, Garcia was hired on fulltime at the station.?He did mornings at KTFS for years and than at KMLA with Fabienne Thrash. When the station went off the air, Garcia set his sites on Hot Springs AR where he was hired as Music Director and later promoted to Program Director. From 1990-2000 he excelled in the Hot Springs area and several times was voted the Best personality on the air by fans of the local newspaper. At the end of 2000 Mario had a calling to come back home and is currently the Program director at the top rated radio station in the Texarkana area, KKYR-FM.
