In addition to being the Calendar editor and writer for Arizona Parenting, Lynda R. Exley is a self-employed independent writer, associate editor and writer of the Ahwatukee Monthly Magazine. Exley's outstanding accomplishments include receiving four first place awards in various categories in the Arizona Press Women's (APW) Communication Contest in 2003. She also won first and second place at the National Federation of Press Women's 2000 Contest. She received two awards in public relations categories in the APW 2000 Contest, an honorable mention in the National Federation of Press Women's 1999 Contest, and first place in the APW's 1999 Contest. She also holds memberships in the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Federation of Press Women, and APW.
