Mr. Don Doxsie has been a part of the Quad-City Times sports staff since January of 1984. He served as sports editor until August 1987 and has been the Times' daily sports columnist since the early 1990's. [CR-LF][CR-LF]While working at the Times, Mr. Doxsie has won dozens of state and national awards including the 1986 Iowa Newspaper Association's Sweepstakes Award. He has covered the Olympics, the World Series, the Super Bowl, the Final Four, baseball's All-Star Game and 10 college football bowl games in his career. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Doxsie began his sports writing career working part-time for the Wheaton (Ill.) Daily Journal and held full-time positions with the Mattoon (Ill.) Journal-Gazette, the Woodstock (Ill.) Sentinel and the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Gazette, before coming to the Times.[CR-LF] [CR-LF]Mr. Doxsie received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Northern Illinois University in 1975.
