Divya Gopalan is a journalist based in New Territories, Hong Kong.

 Divya Gopalan has played a major part in the world’s top news stations for nearly 20 years. She helped shape how news will be told and presented to the world. She was a member of the launch teams of the groundbreaking Al Jazeera English Channel, Now TV’s experimental broadband Channel, and CNBC’s foray in to Asia.

Divya’s worked in all aspects of news production and reporting for the PBS Newshour, BBC World, BBC News 24, CNN International, CNBC Asia and Europe, and terrestrial channels in Hong Kong and London.

She has led the coverage in major breaking stories across Asia. Divya was Al Jazeera’s sole reporter for India’s historic Rape protests and trials in 2012-13. She also tirelessly covered the landmark “Umbrella Movement” protests in Hong Kong in 2014 along with the explosive Hong Kong protests of 2019.

Divya’s often called upon to moderate international conferences and panels. She’s also an experienced media trainer, teaching CEO’s and high level directors on how to best get their message across to news outlets.
