Gurvir Dhindsa is an anchor for the Fox 5 Morning News at WTTG-TV. She joined the station in 2004, after four years at WUSA-TV 9, also in Washington D.C. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Dhindsa came to WUSA-TV from WAGA-TV (Fox 5 Atlanta), where she co-anchored Good Day Atlanta, a three-hour long morning news program. Prior to joining WAGA-TV, she was a reporter and anchor for WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Miss. Ms. Dhindsa began her career as a production assistant at WTVF-TV in her hometown of Nashville, Tenn., and spent three years as a reporter and morning anchor at WAPT-TV in Jackson, Miss. [CR-LF][CR-LF]During her three years at WTTG-TV, Dhindsa was nominated for two Emmy awards for her part in the station's coverage of Atlanta tornadoes and a school shooting in Conyers, Ga. In Biloxi she won numerous Associated Press awards for her reporting and anchoring, including several best documentary awards for her reporting on Mississippi Profiles: Faces of Success, an hour-long program which profiled outstanding Mississippi people or businesses. She also received several first place achievement awards for hosting Viewpoint, a public affairs program, on issues ranging from school prayer to crime to racism.
