Shantayanan Devarajan, the Chief Economist for the South Asia Region of The World Bank, is also its editor and research manager for the Development Research Group. Dr. Devarajan is chairman of the Academic Advisory Council, where he also serves as a member of the Managing Board of the World Bank Research Observer. In addition to the above posts he is the Academic Advisory Council Chair and a member of the Managing Board of Murdoch University . He is also a board member of the Economics Institute.
