Ted Dawson has been the sports director of KIDK since 2003. He is also the TV voice of the Boise State Broncos on KIDK's sister station, KBCI in Boise. In 2009, he became the station's news director. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Dawson's career dates back to the 1960s. He was Sports Director for KOLO-TV and Radio in Reno, Nev., and the play-by-play voice of the University of Nevada. During that time, he covered the first Super Bowl game, doing the post game interviews for CBS. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In 1970, Dawson went to Portland, Oregon, where he was the Sports Director for KOIN-TV and radio, broadcasting Oregon football and basketball games, as well as the Portland Storm of the World Football League. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In 1972, Dawson was named Sports Director for KNXT-TV (now KCBS) in Los Angeles. During five years at the CBS O&O, he broadcast numerous network sporting events in addition to appearing in several movies. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In 1977, Dawson moved to KABC-TV in Los Angeles and spent the next 13 years covering sports for ABC's Wide World of Sports. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In 1990, the Dallas Cowboys invited Dawson to broadcast their TV games, serve as host to the Jimmy Johnson Show and to broadcast sports on the local CBS affiliate, KDFW-TV. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Dawson played football for the University of Utah.
