Rick Carter joined WSBT Radio in 1984 as a high school basketball and football color commentator. He had been employed with the WSBT-TV Production Departments since 1981. His family finally settled in North Liberty, where he graduated from North Liberty High School in 1976. He then graduated from Purdue in 1980. Rick's wife Debi is a high school teacher. He has two children, Lauren and Grant, two step-children Adam and Sarah, and a grandson Jack. The Carters live in Mishawaka.
